Erling Haaland scores twice as City move above Arsenal

Manchester City moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Erling Haaland, who had not scored in his previous five appearances, netted twice in the second half to secure the points for Pep Guardiola's side.

The Norwegian striker opened the scoring in the 71st minute, heading home from close range after a cross from Riyad Mahrez.

He then doubled City's lead 14 minutes later, finishing off a swift counter-attack with a clinical strike.

The win moves City two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table, although the Gunners have a game in hand.

It also extends City's unbeaten run in the Premier League to 15 matches, dating back to a 2-1 defeat at Liverpool in October.

For Everton, the defeat leaves them 19th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone.
