After Grichuks 2 Homers D Backs Hold Off Giants

After Grichuk's 2 Homers, D-backs Hold Off Giants

Diamondbacks' Grichuk Powers Team to Victory

The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the San Francisco Giants 5-3 on Saturday night, thanks in large part to a two-homer performance by David Peralta.

Grichuk's first homer came in the second inning off Giants' starter Anthony DeSclafani. It was a solo shot that gave the Diamondbacks an early 1-0 lead.

D-backs' Bullpen Shines

The Diamondbacks' bullpen was excellent in relief of starter Merrill Kelly, who allowed three runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Stefan Crichton, J.B. Wendelken, and Ian Kennedy combined to allow just one hit and no runs over the final 4 1/3 innings to secure the victory.

Giants' Offense Falters

The Giants' offense was unable to keep pace with the Diamondbacks, managing just five hits and three runs.

Brandon Crawford drove in two of the Giants' runs with a double in the fourth inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Diamondbacks' lead.

Conclusion

The Diamondbacks' victory snapped a three-game losing streak and improved their record to 15-16 on the season.

The Giants dropped to 16-14 with the loss.
